Baby Audio Transit 2: Honest Producer Review, Features, and Comparisons + Download

Baby Audio Transit 2 is a multi FX plugin with 28 modules and 6 different motion options. It was developed in collaboration with the Andrew Huang. It gave me a new direction for production and sound designing.

I have been using this plugin for weeks and testing it on melodies, drums, basses, and even the master track. This article is my personal review of the plugin, focusing on the features I found helpful as well as the ones I found less useful. I have also compared it with other transition plugins to give a clearer picture of where it stands.

Now first talk about the features of this plugin which caught my attention and after it i will move towards the cons.

The Good Stuff in Transit 2 Baby Audio

Instant Sound Design

This plugin includes 838 professionally designed presets. As a producer, I keep trying different sounds in my projects, and I often apply random effects to see how a sound behaves after polishing. Sometimes I find that certain sounds don’t fit well in the mix unless an effect is applied, and this whole process usually takes a lot of time.

On the other hand, this plugin has essential effects right on the surface. Instead of loading each effect plugin individually and adjusting parameters one by one, now I just open this VST and tweak a few settings to decide whether the sound will work or not. What used to take me 20 minutes of setup now takes 2 seconds with a preset.

Adding Motion in the Mix Without the Technical Setup

Today’s listeners prefer polished tracks with rich layers and dynamic effects. To reach this level of production, a producer typically needs strong knowledge of multiple plugins and how to organize effect chains—something that takes a lot of time and can even lead to burnout or creative block.

Transit 2 simplifies this with its Follower and Sidechain modes, making it easier to create smooth, dynamic movement in your mix. I often use Follower Mode on drum buses, paired with saturation or Retroverb, so the effects react naturally to the energy of the drums.

This feature not only adds life to a track but also saves the time you’d normally spend setting up manual sidechains in a DAW.

Suitable for Big Sweeps

I used to produce EDM songs, and sweeps are an important part of those tracks. I’ve been using this plugin since the first version came out, but the original version wasn’t ideal for sweeps because it couldn’t create the dramatic feel I love hearing.

In this updated version, the company added 10 new effects like Warp, Reverser, and more. These additions are great for creating dramatic sweeps and buildups.

Dice Knob That Prevents Artist Block

One of my favorite features in Baby Audio Transit 2 is the Dice knob. The Dice button randomizes the plugin’s settings, giving you unexpected sounds. It’s a great way to spark new ideas. Sometimes, as an artist, I feel stuck knowing what sound might fit but not knowing which effect chain to use. In those moments, I try the Dice knob to brainstorm fresh ideas—and many times, the results are surprisingly good.

Things which disappointed me

Macros can’t be synced with the LFO

This is my biggest frustration, that I still can’t sync the macros with the LFO to create rhythmic motions. To achieve this, I always have to automate the reverb or delay effects with the macro knob. It feels like a major gap that should be addressed by the company in the next update.

One effect per slot

This is also a big frustration in this plugin— I can open only one effect in each slot. For example, if I have distortion loaded in one of the slots, then I can’t open the same distortion effect in the next empty slot. Sometimes I need multiple distortions to create a unique texture in the sound, but the plugin doesn’t let me do that unless I load multiple instances of the plugin, which is both time-consuming and heavy on the CPU.
